7 Steps to Creating an Explainer Video
Here at WeblyGuys, we’ve perfected the process of designing, building, scripting, editing, publishing and marketing online videos. Because we build and design each of our videos from scratch, a typical project takes 4-8 weeks. Here are the steps we typically follow:
Step 1: Project Research
We first start by defining what type of video you need/want. Is it an explainer video, an app or extension video, or a screencast? Is the purpose of the video to sell, explain, teach or train? Should the tone be formal or informal? Our goal is to take our experience and share it with your vision.
We also collaborate with you on discovering the pain points your customers are experiencing. The frustrations they’re currently going through and the challenges they are trying to overcome. Our goal is to answer all of your potential customers’ questions and concerns.
Step 2: Creative Script Writing
The most important part of a video is the script. Whether you have a high quality video or a mediocre one, if the script isn’t good, it won’t covert well. Attention spans are short, so we make sure your message is conveyed with maximum clarity, understanding and impact. Our specialists can write a script with you, or you can provide your own and we will work with you to optimize its impact.
Step 3: Storyboarding
The storyboard process helps us make sure the visual style and story are matching your vision and expectation. It also keeps surprises and revisions to a minimum once the video is complete. In this stage, if there are characters in your explainer video, we collaborate with you on the design and appearance of each character.
Step 4: Voiceover Recording
Every video comes with a professional voiceover as standard, unless you provide your own voiceover. With our database of voices, you pick the one that fits your brand and style. We then upload the audio file for you to listen and be able to request any changes if needed. If you need a specific voiceover type, we’ll locate the right talent for your project.
Step 5: Video Production
After the completion of your storyboard and voiceover, we start building the first draft of you video. When completed, we share with you the video so you can provide comments, suggestions and changes. Depending on the package you choose, the videos can receive one to an unlimited number of revisions.
Step 6: Music & Sound Effects
After the finishing touches have been made to the video by our animators and editors, our professional sound designer adds sound music and sound effects to bring your explainer video to life, maximizing the retention rate and interest of your audience.
Step 7: Delivery, Publishing & Marketing
Upon your final approval, we’ll deliver your finished video in the highest quality format. We’ll also provide you the explainer video in different sizes of resolution.
